Working with Sloomoo Institute, an interactive slime experience that started in New York City, we designed a DIY slime bar that allows guests to create their own slime creations by mix and matching different slimes with colors, scents and charms. We conducted an in-depth research phase where we found opportunities to greatly improve their guest and staff experience.
All the mechanisms were custom designed for dispensing colored powders and liquid fragrances and are controlled by token acceptors that enable guests to directly engage with the machines. The machines are fabricated from a mix of anodized aluminum, bent sheet metal, and 3D printed parts for components that require maintenance. The mouth is an injection molded plastic part that is chemical and stain resistant and allows for easy spill cleanup.
Through several rounds of intensive prototyping within Sloomoo's SoHo space, we were able to ensure a robust system that is being scaled out to multiple locations around the United States.
